Monkey threw up. Lots of throw up. Throw up all over his exersaucer, the rug, himself, me. I was horrified. He proceeded to throw up a few more times, which is when I called Elizabeth (I usually figure that Elizabeth, having three kids, has seen it all and is an expert on most situations.) After having E confirm that it sounded like a stomach virus, that something was going around the neighborhood, and that I should call the pediatrician, I gave Dr. Bucci's office a call. Unless he was refusing fluids or running a fever, they didn't need to see him. No fever. Drinking juice and bottles. After one more call to my mother-in-law the nurse for further reassurance, we settled in to ride out the stomach bug.
I won't burden you with the gory details, suffice it to say Bennet couldn't wear clothes because he just kept throwing up on them, my clothes and hair were (still are) covered in vomit, and I changed more messy diapers than I care to recall. Poor little man. Fortunately, it all came to an abrupt halt after his afternoon nap. I am pleased to announce he seems to be sleeping peacefully tonight and appears to have turned the corner.
Yet another mommy drama dealt with and under my belt. I'm completely exhausted, and I missed out on Bennet's first snow day. Boo.
Here is a photo of our snow day, which consisted of me looking longingly out of Monkey's bedroom window at the falling snow while taking care of him.
There will be other snow days, I know. (In fact, snow's falling again outside right this very minute!) The important thing is that my sweet, little boy is on the mend and is going to be okay!
Stay tuned for those photos of him in his puffy, blue snowsuit. I'll get them sometime! (Maybe tomorrow!)
