project 365: week 19

August 5, 2009: Bennet loves to read books while we drive in the car. This one is one of his favorites - a Barney and Baby Bop book we bought at Value Village, our favorite local thrift store!

August 6, 2009: Bennet and I met Gram and Mommom for lunch. The buffet had gummy bears on it, and Bennet loved them! I don't know if he had ever had candy before this. He was obsessed. Who can blame him?

August 7, 2009: The night before we left for vacation, we were too exhausted from packing to cook dinner. We walked to the new barbecue restaurant in our neighborhood and had dinner there. Bennet loved the french fries and macaroni and cheese, but was not a big fan of the pulled pork! Here he is feeding it to Daddy.

August 8, 2009: We arrived safe and sound for our beach house vacation in Strathmere, NJ. Bennet wore a very special outfit for the drive to NJ. This outfit was worn by Andrew and his brothers when they were little boys! Grammy Gale saved lots of adorable clothes worn by the Peters boys when they were tiny. I love dressing Bennet in cute, vintage outfits that his daddy and his uncles once wore!

August 9, 2009: We all went out to play putt-putt at the beach! The closest place to our beach house was pirate-themed, so we made sure Bennet wore his pirate shirt. It made for some great photos!

August 10, 2009: Andrew and I headed out for a date night! We went to Stone Harbor to see "Julie and Julia" and have dinner. The little theater where the movie was showing was absolutely charming! We both loved the movie, too!

August 11, 2009: After an exhausting, hot morning at Cape May Point and the Cape May Zoo, poor Bennet was hot and sweaty! I bought him a special treat, a monkey sippy cup with lemonade in it, at the snack bar! He gulped the entire bottle down in no time at all, and drank most of the refill when I bought him more! Poor little guy. He must have been hot!
