An Afternoon at the Park.

The kids woke up early from naps yesterday, and since the weather was nice, we drove to a local park.  Kennedy loves swinging on the swings now, and I was excited to put her in a nice baby swing instead of the somewhat ghetto one we have at our community playground!  She had an absolute ball.  Bennet wanted to swing with her, but as soon as I put him in the swing he claimed “this not fun” and wanted out!

Bennet’s very interested in the monkey bars of late, but I keep telling him they’re not safe for little boys his size.  We don’t need any broken arms! I encouraged him to play on the climbing equipment and the slides instead, which seemed to make him equally happy.

The park we visited has an awesome walking trail, so we went on a “nature walk” and looked for pinecones and big sticks.  Bennet loves pushing Kennedy in her stroller almost as much as he loves exploring the woods!

I got so many great pictures of the kids on our walk.  I’m loving this bright, beautiful afternoon sunlight we’re getting lately!

As the afternoon went on, Bennet got increasingly snotty and Kennedy drew close to a complete meltdown.

Based on the overall temperament of my brood, I decided to cut my losses and head home.

Afternoons like this one make me so excited for spring!  I cannot wait until the weather is consistently warm and sunny.  I feel like I barely remember last spring/summer with being pregnant, having Kennedy, and moving into a new house.  It’s all a blur – and I can’t wait for sunny skies and time in our yard and pool with the kids this year!

It's scary how much your daughter looks like my youngest... even when she cries!
