project 365: week 15
July 8, 2009: Bennet and I took Grandma and Mommom to lunch at our favorite neighborhood restaurant, Thornton's Pub! Bennet loved the little zip-up make-up bag that Grandma had packed in her purse. Grandma took everything out of it and let Bennet eat his chicken tenders and french fries out of it. He thought it was the greatest thing ever!
July 9, 2009: The beautiful hydrangeas I cut fresh from my grandma's hydrangea bushes at her house on the 4th of July. They were still going strong far into this week and I loved every minute of it. Hydrangeas are my very favorite flower. We just planted a bush of our own on our back porch this spring, but I think it has a long way to go before it's as beautiful and plentiful as Mommom's bushes are!
July 10, 2009: Occasionally, we feed Bennet his own dinner, put him to bed, and then have a "date night" dinner on the back porch together. On this night, Andrew made flat iron steak Au Poivre and fried patty pan squash (from our CSA - of course!) We relaxed on the back porch and enjoyed some grown-up conversation. It was fantastic!
July 11, 2009: We spend most of the afternoon on the back porch and even grilled and ate our dinner there. Bennet played with his sandbox, his trucks, and his tugboat. He then discovered the water fountain, and spent the rest of the time leading up to bedtime drowning his tugboat captain in the fountain! He was soaked, but he had so much fun!
July 12, 2009: We packed a family picnic dinner and spent the evening in Riverside Park enjoying a free concert by a rock cover band called the Big Red T's. We sat with Bennet's friends, Brynn and Fiona and their parents, had some drinks, ate a yummy pasta dinner and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Bennet didn't make it through the whole concert since it was close to bedtime, but he had a lot of fun for the part we did hear!
July 13, 2009: Our first child, Sophie, looking glamorous as usual on the couch. She loves to rest on the end of the couch by the window, basking in the sunshine. Sometimes we're sure she's part cat!
July 14, 2009: Bennet was extremely well-behaved during our shopping trip to Target. We spent quite a bit of time coupon-ing, and found some really great deals! We also bought a birthday present for Bennet's new friend, Priya, who's turning one this month! Here's Bennet, modeling an adorable Paul Frank monkey rain hat and eating his snack! The hat was $6.99, which I found a little pricey, so we just wore it around the store for a photo op.

I love seeing your photos! So cute! Glad to see you're back to coupon-ing. I need to get back in the swing of it as well. Hopefully this fall...
