Project 365: Week 17

July 22, 2009: Family walk. Every night after dinner, Andrew, Bennet, Sophie and I go for a walk around the neighborhood before we put Bennet to bed.

July 23, 2009: Bennet walked to the car in the rain for the first time. I tried getting him to hurry, but I quickly realized that he was fascinated with the rain. He stood on the street, letting it soak him, giggling the whole time. One of the coolest things about being a mommy is seeing the world through your child's eyes. I had forgotten that rain can be fun!

July 24, 2009: Gram and Mommom came over for dinner. We had Greek salads, homemade bread, and yummy homemade chocolate ice cream with homemade hot fudge! Bennet loves playing with his grandma and great-grandma. He had a great time looking through Mommom's purse, stealing note pads and band aids and all sorts of fun stuff!

July 25, 2009: Andrew's cousin, Debbie, and her family are missionaries in the Dominican Republic. They happen to be in the DC area on a break, and they generously invited us to their house for lunch! Here's a picture of Bennet with his cousins, Olivia (who is only 2 months older than he is) and AJ. He had a great time playing with them!

July 26, 2009: A lazy Sunday afternoon in the back yard. After Bennet's nap, we went for a bike ride around Fort McHenry, took Bennet for a wagon ride in the alley, and then played in the sandbox in the back yard until it started to rain!

July 27, 2009: Bennet and I met April, Brittany and baby Tessie for lunch at Chick-Fil-A. Bennet flirted with Tess all through lunch. I can't blame him - she's such a pretty girl!

July 28, 2009: Yesterday at lunch, Auntie B gave Bennet his Birthday present - a Yo Gabba Gabba dance mat! You're supposed to lay it on the floor and step on the different keys and characters to play Yo Gabba Gabba songs. Bennet seems to be more excited to carry it around the house and lay under it like a blanket. He loves it, though!
