July 29, 2009: Bennet's new favorite game to play is hide and seek. His Grandma Horne started playing with him when she babysat him a few weeks ago, and now he can't get enough of it! In the evenings before bed, Andrew and I take turns hiding from him and then chasing him once he finds us. He laughs hysterically through the whole game. I've never heard anything cuter!
July 30, 2009: Bennet and I got a hot tip from Aunt Dee that Target was marking down lots of toys 75% off to clear out for the new Christmas toys! We spent two hours shopping in Target, and are completely finished with all toy-related Christmas shopping! I found some really amazing deals. My favorite were all of the Yo Gabba Gabba toys that I snagged for less than $5! Thanks again, Dee, for the tip!
July 31, 2009: Bennet and I did tons of shopping at Costco and Aldi. When we came home, he had a great time playing in the box we packed our things in at Aldi while I put away groceries!
August 1, 2009: Daddy and Bennet went to Great Clips to get haircuts together! This was Bennet's first time getting his hair cut at a "big boy" place. Normally, we take him to Cartoon Cuts! We were nervous that he wouldn't do as well at Great Clips, but he did a great job! The stylist let him play with her squirt bottle and combs, and even gave him a balloon when he was finished with his haircut! We are very glad that we can all go together to the same place for our haircuts now. Doing everything at one place makes things much easier!
August 2, 2009: In the evenings, once we put Bennet to bed, Sophie usually gets our uninterrupted attention as we snuggle with her on the couch and watch TV. If we use our laptops, read, or do anything that makes her feel ignored, she brings out her toy, Blue Dog, and forces us to throw it for her. She's a little needy!
August 3, 2009: Bennet and I went to the Prophets' house to visit baby Cole! This was Bennet's first time meeting Cole, and he wasn't a very polite visitor! He stole Cole's pacifier and kicked him in the head! Mandy and I thought it was all very funny. Poor Cole probably didn't!
August 4, 2009: I gave Bennet a snack in the kitchen and then left him there to clean the house. He was being awfully quiet, so I came in to check on him and found him sharing his snack with Sophie. He would eat a Goldfish and then share one with Sophie. He's such a nice little brother.
