Our little guy turned two a few days ago. Unfortunately for him, he started off his second year with two different sicknesses - a stomach virus, and then some sort of virus that caused a high fever and a lot of misery. Andrew and I were sick, too. We all finally got better this week and we're so thankful to be on the mend!
All the being sick and playing nurse to a cranky two year old has put me significantly behind on blogging. We had a wonderful birthday party for Bennet on the Saturday before his birthday. We had it the same place as last year - in the park near our house. It was a "Little Man" themed party, complete with cute necktie decorations and homemade chocolate mustache lollipops. We had a picnic dinner, and a dinosaur cake (chosen by Bennet.) About 40 friends and family members were there to celebrate with us. We are so blessed to have so many people who love Bennet!
We had his 2-year check up the week after his birthday. He's doing great! He's in the 95th percentile for weight and head circumference, and the 90th for height. Some things never change! We had the pediatrician fill out his medical forms for preschool in the fall. He's officially cleared to start school!
Since turning two, he has been changing a lot. We've started in on the temper tantrums, and are still working on mastering sleeping in the toddler bed. Last night, he even peed on his potty chair! I can't believe what a big boy he is becoming. "Two" will be such a big year for him. He'll start school, learn to use the potty and become a big brother. I can't wait to see what other exciting things the year brings for him!
