July 21, 2010: Andrew and I had our first "date night" since Kennedy was born. We put the kids to bed, and had a cheese plate and some wine in our living room. It was so much fun to sample the different cheeses, and to spend some time doing something other than holding crying children or changing diapers!
July 22, 2010: My "push present" came in the mail! For those of you who aren't in the know, a push present is a gift you give your wife after she pushes out a baby. I absolutely love this necklace, which Andrew found in an etsy shop. I told Bennet that having just his and Kennedy's names on the pendant is my promise to him that we aren't having any more babies!
July 23, 2010: Andrew had the day off, and we took Bennet to the interactive fountains at the Harbor. He had an absolute blast. While we were watching him laugh and play in the fountains, I said to Andrew, "When I see him enjoying life like this and having so much fun, I think 'This is why I have kids - to give them experiences like this.'" Nothing makes me happier than seeing him smile like that!
July 24, 2010: Our neighbors, Tristan and Lisa, threw us a going away party before our big move. I had made this t-shirt for Bennet to match one of Kennedy's outfits, so I figured this was as good a time as any to dress them up! I bought two of the same outfits at a thrift store and cut the tie out of one of them to sew to Bennet's shirt! I won't have many opportunities to match a boy and a girl - so I'll take whatever ones I can get!
July 25, 2010: Bennet is such a sweet big brother. He kisses and loves his little sister all through the day. Sometimes his "love" is a little too rough, but I've been trying to take it all in stride and let him do what he needs to do!
July 26, 2010: We settled on our new home! Bennet was so excited to explore the yard and the empty house. He keeps saying, "Momma? New house! Pool!" I got a little teary-eyed when I took this picture. All I could think about were the events this front porch will see over the years. First days of school, proms, holidays. We're so blessed to have found our "forever house."
July 27, 2010: This is what our entire house looks like right now! We've been slowly packing as the week goes on. Our official moving day is Saturday, but we're going to spend some time on Thursday and Friday of this week moving some things over on our own. I can't believe this time next week, I'll be posting our "365" blog from our new home!
